Can the choral ensemble transport us to a living, breathing place? An Irish place? Can a choir be more than Irish? Can it be Ireland?
As designer and course director of the children’s chorus categories of the XI Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod, I have to be sure of what it is that I want my coursework to achieve.
This week I am with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra pioneering a series of vocal ensemble workshops, designed with the aim of encouraging the orchestra to better use their voices in the process of accessing their repertoire.
